Claudette Hanks Reichel
Biography
Claudette Hanks Reichel is Professor, Louisiana Extension Housing Specialist and Director of LaHouse Resource Center, a sustainable, resilient housing outreach program and demonstration facility on the LSU campus. She has developed housing disaster resistance, restoration and resilience programs and materials since the 1980s, integrating energy efficiency, healthy homes and building science programming. She has been an invited speaker at many national events, including the National Building Museum following hurricane Katrina. She is among the founding delegates of national EDEN as co-host of the 1996 “Breaking the Housing Disaster Cycle” joint conference in New Orleans which spearheaded EDEN’s expansion into a national network.
